General Classification
1. Standard stainless steel: Steel capable of resisting corrosion in air or mild media. Note that "stainless steel" does not necessarily guarantee total corrosion resistance, whereas "corrosion-resistant stainless steel" is guaranteed not to rust.
2. Corrosion-resistant steel: Steel capable of resisting corrosion in certain highly corrosive media. Corrosion-resistant stainless steel is guaranteed not to rust and thus truly lives up to the name "stainless steel."
