7 Passivation (rust-prevention treatment)
Formula 1: Nitric acid 600–700 g/L; Operating conditions: Temperature 70–80°C, Time 150–200 min. Formula 2: Nitric acid 300–500 g/L; Operating conditions: Room temperature, Time ≥40 min.
Note: a. Pickling is not required if the component surface has undergone a polishing finish. b. Passivation plays a crucial role in enhancing the protective capability of stainless steel and must be performed strictly according to specifications.
