1. First, check the new pot for any labels on the inside or outside and remove them. If a label is stuck fast and hard to peel off by hand, apply a few drops of essential oil (such as Fengyoujing/mentholated oil); once the label has fully absorbed the oil, it will be easy to peel off.
2. Apply a couple of drops of dish soap (any common brand will do) to a damp cotton cloth and wipe down the entire pot, both inside and out.
3. Wipe the lid as well.
4. Don't forget to wipe the bottom of the pot.
5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to ensure all soap residue is removed.
6. Pour some boiling water and a little white vinegar into the pot, then swirl the mixture around to ensure the vinegar solution reaches every part of the interior.
7. Dry the pot with an absorbent towel or paper towel.
8. You are now ready to confidently use the pot to cook whatever dishes you enjoy.
